Luke Buentello, a senior at Vista High in California, won the Division 2 boys title at the CIF San Diego Section Championships by covering the 3-mile layout in 15:49.6 at Balboa Park's Morley Field. Buentello, who took third last season in 15:41.6, helped Vista place second overall as a team behind Scripps Ranch High by a 70-87 margin.
